07.03.25 : The Bear Educational Theatre

Le vendredi 07 mars 2025, l’équipe d’Anglais a fait venir une troupe de théâtre « The Bear Educational Theatre » qui ont joué des pièces interactives en anglais pour les niveaux 5e, 4e et 3e du collège.

Niveau 5: The Aliens

Niveau 4: The Detectives

Niveau 3: Where’s Andrew McStag ?

Last Friday, all of the students of Year 8 to Year 10 watched a play in the school main hall. The team of English teachers organized the event.

For the students of Year 9, the play was entitled “The Detectives”. The plot of the play is a murder during a cabaret show in a restaurant. In the story, there are three characters: a magician, a clown, and a dancer. Their names are : Michael, Christopher and Sylvia. The victim is Sylvia.

She dies because she is poisoned. Christopher, the clown is the murderer because he is jealous: he loves Sylvia, but, after the cabaret show she plans to leave with David.

We liked the show because it was interesting and lively.

On Friday, all  the 5e classes watched a show in English about aliens.

In this theatre play, there were two men and one woman.

Here is the story.

Two men were sent from the President of the United States to capture an alien. The students could participate in the show.

The theatre play was completely in English, with English-speaking actors.

We liked the show because we found it very funny.

At the end, we could ask questions to the actors about their life.

Some reactions :

Yalvina : My favourite moment was when the two agents captured the alien, because it was very funny .

Maeva :  My favourite moment in the show was when the actors said « Blob ! Blob ! ».

Emma CG : My favourite moment was when the agents tried to fight but they wre in slow motion. It was really funny !

Mélyne : My favourite moment was when the agents were walking in slow motion because it was very funny !

Last Friday, we watched a show, « The Detectives », about a murder story organised by the English department.

There were three characters: a dancer, a clown and a magician. The dancer and the magician are married. The little group played a show at a cabaret twice in the story.

The first show was really good, but the second one wasn’t because something happened.

The woman, Sylvia, loved attention from men and had a secret relationship with the clown, but her husband was jealous. He had poison and he threatened to commit suicide if his wife didn’t stop playing with his heart.

The second cabaret show was awful because the clown learnt that his lover was going to leave him to go with her husband. He was jealous and angry so he killed her with the magician’s (her husband’s) poison.

We found who the killer was: Christopher!

We really liked this show! It was extraordinary and our favourite character is Sylvia.

Last Friday, we have watched a short play: it was a detective story. There are 3 characters: Christopher (the clown), Sylvia (the dancer) and Michael (the magician).

It is the story of a man (the magician) who loves a woman (the dancer) and the woman loves him, too, but she is in a relationship with another man (the clown).

The magician is jealous of the clown and he wants to separate them but the dancer and the clown continue their relationship.

On the day of the murder, the clown and the dancer drink something during their show, and, after that, the dancer is dead!

Most of us thought that the dancer committed suicide and some of us thought that the clown killed her with the poison. In fact, the murderer was the clown!

We watched a play in English on Friday, 7th March 2025, in the school main hall from 2.30 to 4 p.m.  The title was “The Detectives”. The event was organized by the English teachers who had hired an English-speaking theatre company.

The play was about a murder in a cabaret because two men fell in love with the same woman (Sylvia). The murderer killed Sylvia with poison. One man was a clown and the other man was a magician. Sylvia was a dancer.  The detectives were the students.        We think the show was interesting, funny and amazing, but it had a terrible outcome for Sylvia.
